East Coast season: Sri Lanka Tourism identifies the May–September southwest-monsoon period as a strong time to explore the eastern dry-zone destinations including Trincomalee and Arugam Bay. October–November is more transitional, so Trustker reconfirms sea conditions and marine activity operation for the exact travel dates.
Marine activities: Swimming, snorkeling, diving, Pigeon Island trips, whale/dolphin watching, lagoon trips and other marine activities depend on sea/weather conditions, park/supplier operation and current local rules.
